First things first: if you aren’t a TEDtalks follower already, go here and subscribe to their feed, as they will make you a better person. Then, let’s talk about one particular talk I recently watched.
Tillett Wright is friends with many non-heteronormative people, that is men and women and intergendered persons who in various ways don’t fit the ‘straight’ category. This is why she was horrified to realize that in the United States – allegedly the most civilized country in the world – they are considered second-rate citizens, legally denied some of their constitutional, basic human rights.
Since she comes from a visual background, she then started a most simple, wonderful and effective project to reinstate equality throughout the whole wide spectrum of sexualities. In the talk she described it in the best possible way, so whatever your orientation is, I’m inviting you to give her twenty minutes of your time. I promise you won’t regret it.
