Black Ball was the first actual fetish event held in Italy. In fact, BDSM parties or foot-fetish nights had been somewhat common at this point in time, but this occasion witnessed the debut of many new features for my country – including the adoption of a kinky dress code.

Without the right outfit nobody could access the half of the club where many sensual and artistic performances I directed for the stage, introducing another important novelty to this one-night-only event. The biggest innovation was however the positive spirit of that night: while this sounds obvious to foreign readers, it must be remembered that Italy tended to judge fetishists harshly, forcing them to live their passions in private or in very small groups at best. Bringing latex, leather and such in the open caused a real culture shock that kept the media busy for a while and opened the way for many other events.
